The Gracewell Process.

Everything I make begins as a moment of reverence.
Here is how it is made.

✦ ✦ ✦
A spiritual practice

Creating is a space I enter.
It is my spiritual practice.

I am a Reiki Master and an ordained Interfaith Minister. I have been a nurse for nearly two decades. I have walked many spiritual paths. And what I know, deep in my body, is that the practice that works is the one that is alive in you right now.

This is what freedom in spirituality looks like for me. I have led my life with an openness, a permission to practice what works and what allows me to enter a state of flow, much like meditation. That practice has changed shape as I have grown.

For me, right now, it is creating. And it is sacred. Every single time.

"I pay attention to what my mind, body, and spirit tell me. And then I adapt. Adaptability is one of my super powers. I believe it is the single most important attribute in living a healthy life."

Change is constant. The Taoist in me knows this, embraces this, and goes along with the flow of life. Creating is in my flow. It has become a spiritual practice because I enter every moment with reverence and intention. Fully present. Ready to receive what wants to be made.

How every piece is born

Six moments. One piece.

Here it is shown with a bag. The materials and the medium change. The process remains the same.

Rolled denim and fabrics, the listening
01

The Listening

I move through my collection of fabrics, colors, and textures. I use my senses. I wait for the ones that speak to me in that moment, the ones that call.

Sitting with the materials, waiting for the vision
02

The Sitting

I sit with the materials and wait for the inspiration of what they will become. Every piece is free style and free flow, born in its own moment and entirely its own.

Cutting the denim panels
03

The Cutting

Once the vision arrives, I cut the panels and pieces. Each cut is a commitment. Each shape is a choice. The piece begins to take form from intention.

Sewing the pieces together at the machine
04

The Sewing

The machine pulls me into a meditative moment. The sounds. The sight of the stitches forming. The guiding of fabric. The joining of parts that will become a whole. A beautiful, sacred moment every time.

Pressing the seams flat and true
05

The Pressing

The iron. The water chamber. The steam that rises and tames the wrinkles. The seams pressed flat and true. Each step is a continuation of the meditation. Unhurried. Present.

The sixth moment

And then it is ready
to become yours.

When the last seam is pressed, I pause. There is always a quiet that feels a little sacred.

I hold the finished piece and I know. It is fabric and thread, and so much more. Made slowly. Made with full presence. Made with a steadiness that feels like more than me, gently guiding my hands.

That is what comes home with you. A piece of joy, made on purpose. Sewn one at a time at The Gracewell Studio. Blessed in the making. And released with love into your story.

This one is the Monstera Tote. One of a kind, like the person who will carry it.

What this means for you

Every piece carries a moment.

Every Gracewell piece is one of a kind, because every moment of creation is one of a kind. Each piece is born from a specific moment of inspiration, made with full presence, and released with love.

When you bring a Gracewell piece home, you bring that moment with you. That intention. That care. It becomes part of your story the way it was first part of mine.

Each piece is
  • Handmade with upcycled and reclaimed materials
  • One of a kind, like you
  • Made with reverence, intention, and full presence
  • Ready to become part of your story
More of the story

Making is a spiritual practice.
Here is where it began.

✦ ✦ ✦

May every Gracewell piece you welcome home
hold your everyday sacred.
May it remind you that ordinary things,
made with extraordinary care,
carry a different kind of energy.
May it serve you well.
And may it feel like coming home.
