Meet the maker

The Heritage Line, by Monina.

My mother, Monina, is the creative matriarch of our family. A Puerto Rican fashion designer, she learned to sew as a young girl at her grandmother's side, and that skill became a language she has spoken her whole life.

As a bohemian in the 1960s she co owned an art and design gallery in Old San Juan, living and working among artists. Then came her own clothing label, Monina, known for impeccable construction and elegant lines. She was awarded the Premio Laurel three years in a row for her contribution to Puerto Rico's fashion industry, and her designs were called verdaderas obras de arte, true works of art.

The Heritage Line is where her designs live and continue. Every bag carries the same craftsmanship, color, and joy she built her name on, and no two are alike.
